About Us
The role of a shepherd is quite simple on paper: they protect the sheep, feed the sheep, give them fresh water, and tend to their wounds. No matter how big or small the flock is, they must care for the whole population and not just the individuals. In other words, if you have 100 sheep and one wanders away or gets sick, it is more important for the shepherd to protect and care for the remaining 99 rather than go after the one.
However, there is a shepherd who flipped this idea on its head. He said if one sheep goes away, he will go get it because that is the one who needs help. If the 99 are safe, then someone needs to go and care for the one. This is the heart we chose to adopt. Not every animal is physically able to go to the vet or handles stress of the office and not every person can go to the vet office or handle the stress of the vet office. These are the people and animals that we aim to serve.
At Shepherd’s Heart our mission is to provide excellent and compassionate veterinary care to all of God’s creation and the people who care for them. – wherever you are, just as you are.
